This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Amana Academy 1st-8th grade students are challenged this year to redefine the world they live in. The TEDxYouthDay theme for this year is Worlds Imagined. Students will answer the Guiding Question: \"What do you want the future to look like?\"

Simon believes students should have longer recess and times to be active throughout the day.

Simon link is a 3rd grader at Amana Academy. He likes chocolate, candy, and learning about the history of other cultures. He loves to run and play during recess. Simon believes students should have longer recess and times to be active throughout the day. This idea connects with the Expeditionary Learning Design principle Empathy and Caring, and Responsibility for Learning.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
