Collingwood students collected non-biological waste and stuffed it into plastic bottles in order to create reusable building blocks. These building blocks are called ecobricks. Students used these ecobricks to create furniture for the school. Through this project students were able to reduce the amount of plastics going into the landfill and our environment. In some third world countries, these kinds of bricks are be used to build furniture, walls and even entire buildings. All the students at Collingwood School helped to create a couch for the school. Our finished couch was made from 157 ecobricks. That’s a lot of plastic!
