One and a half-hour away from Melbourne lies the Phillip Island reserve. It is home to a colony of adorable little penguins, also called little blue penguins because of the indigo hues of their feathers.

A whole network of wooden bridges has been built throughout the place to avoid disturbing the penguins in their natural habitat. Visitors can therefore observe the animals without disturbing them. Every year, 500 000 curious and nature-lovers come to marvel at the penguin parade.
